Hubby and I want to tear up the dead grass in our front yard and put more rocks down instead. How exactly do we do that? Do we use plastic or fabric sheeting for rounded peebles? Who do we get the rocks from? How much rock do we need? Do we need to take out enough dirt so that the pavement is an inch or two above the ground where we'll lay down the rocks?

Help us please! I've been searching around online for help, but there isn't anything!

Walden is about to start on online BS of Psychology degree that I'm thinking about transfering to. Currently go to Regis University and they're not offering the classes I need online - and I *need* online classes! (Stay at home mom, no money for day care, etc.) So I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and what they're like.

My husband was playing 'Bioshock' a few days ago when the game froze. When he turned the XBOX off and turned it back on, the XBOX logo came up, but the dashboard wouldn't load. Then, after turning it off again, the XBOX wouldn't boot up *at all*. He had already taken the game out, checked the connections, everything, but nothing's worked. We can still turn it on from the controller, but the XBOX doesn't recognize it in addition to not booting. This is the second XBOX 360 we've had since Microsoft had to replace our original one after the graphics went weird with 'Dead Rising'. Anyone have any ideas what could be happening and how to fix it? Or do we need a new XBOX? Will Microsoft replace it again?

And then get all upset when you answer what you thought they were asking when they didn't provide details *in the first place*? Not to mention they get insulting and annoying? Do they expect people on the internet to be mind readers or something? Or are they one of the brainless masses that don't think with more than 1% of their brain?

I have this song in my head, but I can't, for the life of me, remember the name of it, or the name of the band. It's a farily recent song (from last year I think), and the video for it is like a Mexican soap opera. It looks like it's set in Mexico where this young woman walks in on her husband cheating on her, and then the video goes into a series of flashbacks of their relationship. For some reason the title 'Not Another Love Song' keeps popping into my head, but I'm not sure that's right. I appreciate any help!

Now, don't get me wrong, I love Tolkien. I love the history he made for Middle-earth, and the detail he put into it, but to be honest I find reading 'The Lord of the Rings' a little tedious. His style seems a bit stilted to me, and the constant stops for poems and songs kind of drives me a little nuts. And we all know how 'exciting' the 'Silmarillion' is for so many fans! ;) So I'm wondering if I'm a bad Tolkien fan for not liking his style of writing, or if I'm not alone.

I know this is asked a lot, but I'd like to get some opinions on this. My husband and I have a lot of problems with the US education system, and want to give our kids the best education possible. We've been discussing either sending our son to a private school (which I doubt we can afford), or just homeschooling him. Any thoughts?

I recently learned a new term: Gender Disappointment, or GD. I found out about this after finding a board with women who "have" this. Apparently they get really worked up over having a baby that isn't the gender they wanted, and go so far as to become really depressed, and think bad thoughts towards people who have kids that are the "right" gender. They even talk about how it affects their relationship with their kid! How shallow is this? Why can't they just be happy they have a healthy, happy baby? Why do they have to make up a pseudo-problem when there's more important, and more serious, things to stress about in the world?

Can someone explain this to me?

I always hear people say "the rabbit died" when talking about a woman discovering she's pregnant, and am curious if anyone knows where this came from?

Especially when it's medically impossible to get a real period while pregnant since it's the shedding of the endometrium (uterine lining) necessary for pregnancy? I just keep hearing women say they had their period during their pregnancy and I have to wonder if they no idea what a period really is and what causes it. (Keep in mind that I do know that spotting due to other reasons is possible during pregnancy. It happened to me during my pregnancy.)
